‘Write-on’ for peace urged

A Rangiora peace group has begun a “write-on” campaign to urge world leaders to co-operate in progress toward peace. The Rangiora District Peace and Nuclear Disarmament Group wants other peace groups to write to world leaders expressing their fear of a third world war, and asking them to respect the declared objectives of the United Nations Charter.

An information pamphlet released by the group says the work of peacemaking should not be left to the Prime Minister, Mr Lange.

“Our Prime Minister has led the world in denying a place for nuclear weapons in the world arsenal, but he needs our support as never before if we are to maintain our non-nuclear stance,” it says.
