Runner lagging
NZPA staff correspondent Washington The New Zealander, Sigfried Bauer, was increasingly lagging behind the leader, Stu Mittleman, of the United States, in the 1000-mlle ultramarathon race in New York yesterday. Bauer had held the lead up until about halfway through the event, but on Saturday, still suffering stomach complications, was overtaken by the top United States runner. Yesterday, 237 hours into the race, Mittleman had clocked up 842 miles
