Riccarton tourist complex grows
A proposed tourist house complex on Riccartori Road will be bigger than was originally planned after a decision by the Riccarton Borough Council. In August 1985, the council approved an application by Mr B. Mullaly to convert the Antrim Glen Motel and the Park Avenue Motel into an accommodation complex for overseas tourists. It also
gave permission for a restaurant and a conference building to be built on the site. The council gave approval on Monday for another five motel units to be built, and for the property at 3 Darvel Street to be used for car-parking. Work cannot begin on the complex until the titles for all the properties are amalgamated.
