Murder charge remand
PA Palmerston North A Palmerston North man was yesterday charged with murder in the District Court at Palmerston North. The charge followed an incident in a Palmerston North house at 1 a.m. Bradley Robert Kinnuman, aged 23, an unemployed mutton butcher, was charged with murdering John Patrick Terrace Kinnuman. He was remanded to the Lake Alice psychiatric institution for examination. The defendant was helped into the dock by two constables. He was handcuffed, and wore white overalls. Mr Ben Vanderkolk, for the Crown, applied for Kinnuman to be remanded in a psychiatric hospital for further examination. Counsel, Mr Les Atkins, said Kinnuman was under heavy sedation so he could not get instructions from him. He did not oppose the application. Judge Toomey remanded Kinnuman for one week.
