British job for canon
NZPA staff correspondent London Canon Paul Oestreicher, whose election as Bishop of Wellington was vetoed, has been appointed to an English post he says he “doesn’t regard as second best.” The new director of the international ministry at Coventry Cathedral and the cathedral’s resident canon, he told NZPA, “If it came up first I probably would have accepted it instead.”
