Train to run
The suggested training schedule for next week’s preparation for “The Press” Park to Park run on May 4 is: Runners whose objective is the Park to Park can have an easy week of running 20 to 30 minutes each day. Moro Marathon and half marathon runners need to continue with the effort, remembering the schedule is to give you easy and harder days. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 40 to 45 minutes; Wednesday and Friday, 70 to 90 minutes; Sunday SO to 120 minutes. The marathon runners should look at the longer times. The Park to Park run starts at 9.30 a.m. from Sydenham Park, and covers a 10.4 km course. Proceeds from the run will go to the Canterbury Cot Death Society, and all competitors will have the chance to win an Air New Zealand trip for two to Auckland, staying at the Logan Park Vacation Inn. During and after the run, the Christchurch South Rotary Club will be holding a fair in Sydenham Park, with all proceeds again going to the Cot Death Society. Run cards are available from “The Press” at any time before the run, or by mail coupon before April 28.
