European cookers for N.Z.
Most of the up-market cooking facilities for kitchens seem to be coming from Europe. The latest asset being the “Gasfire” tops or Classique Dominoes, as they are commonly called from Italy. There are four different dominoes available, these are; the barbecue/grill top, an electric deep fryer top, a double-burner gas top for woks, and a double-electric element top. They are named dominoes ' because they can be added one after the other on a bench top for convenience. Once they have been cleaned for the night the dominoes have beautifully styled and elegant crystal glass lids available in different colours, adding to the aesthetic appeal of a kitchen, which can be folded down over the elements, giving a beautiful finish to a modern kitchen. The barbecue/grill is an electric 2400w element which can be used for searing steaks, and such, to get the true barbecue flavour that most people
have to wait until summer to taste. One can use barbecue coals under the element to get this taste, or simply put a little bit of water on the under-tray of the element. Once the coals have cooled one can throw the coals out and put the under-tray into a dishwasher. The electric deep fryer can produce dishes to the most sophisticated standards. Fish, meat, fries or desserts can -be cooked without changing the oil. There is a stainless steel lid which can be fitted on to the top of the basin of oil if you wish to leave the oil in the domino basin rather than clean it out. The crystal glass lid fits on top of the stainless steel. The double-burner gas top domino is delightful to use. Each domino features spark ignition and, should the flame be extinguished, there is an automatic gas cut-out for safety. This domino has been specially approved by the N.Z. Gas Association. Thanks to the availability of L.P.G. and Natural Gas
in New Zealand, this domino is very popular. The double-electric element top domino is recommended by many leading kitchen designers when combining with a microwave oven. These are energy saving, quick heating, sealed elements and are easy to clean. These double-electric elements have one large 2000w element and one medium size 1500w element; each has six heat settings. The designer glass covers match each domino in white or mocca brown, and are easily removed for cleaning. For situations where a conventional range-hood cannot be installed, like beside windows, the Classique Appliances people have introduced a new product, the Downdraft. This is an integrated high-powered proximity ventilation system designed as an effective alternative to range-hoods or extractor fans. An efficient multi-layer aluminium filter effectively removes grease particles and is easily removed for cleaning.
