The adult salmon pen will be emptied at 11 o’clock and the ripe adults stripped at approximately 2 o’clock. The research station is 130 km from Christchurch at the head of the Rakaia River. The turnoff from Highway 72 (skm south of the Rakaia Gorge Bridge) will be signposted. The station is 48km from the turn-off and most of this road is not sealed. Average travel time is two hours from Christchurch.
