Harder penalties supported

PA Wellington The police fully support proposed tougher penalties for violent offending and the Governnment’s decision to set up a commitee of inquiry into violence, says the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Mai Churches. “The level of violence has concerned the police for some time,” he said.
