Kiwi issue withdrawn
Wellington reporter The fifth issue of Kiwi bonds was withdrawn yesterday at 5 p.m. This was in response to the fall, in secondary market interest rates for Government stock, said the Minister of Finance, Mr Douglas. A new issue would start on Thursday, April 24, he said. Its interest rates would be announced today.
The withdrawn issue had interest rates of 18.5 per cent for two years and 17.5 per cent for four years.
