Obituary Mr F.A. Simpson
PA Auckland Mr Frank Alexander Simpson, an author and journalist, has died, aged 71. Mr Simpson was born in Masterton and educated at Victoria and Otago universities. He began his journalistic career in Wellington. He was later a contri-
buting writer and columnist for the “New Zealand Herald.” He wrote books on Parliament, the Chatham Islands and the 1953 Royal visit. A work on Antarctica which was translated into Russian earned him a fellowship of the Royal Geographic Society.
