Four free to travel
Of the seven Canterbury All Blacks overseas, only four had permission to travel, the management committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union was told at its meeting last evening. The chairman, Mr Les Russell, said the only invitations the union had received had been for
Wayne Smith and Warwick Taylor to play games in Britain and for Jock Hobbs and Albert Anderson to play two festival matches in South Africa.
“We had no other requests, nor were there any approaches by individuals for other games,” said Mr Russell.
