Greenhouse designed for optimum air

The problem of providing effective natural ventilation in its plastic-film, inflated greenhouses has been effectively addressed by a Levin manufacturer.

Edwards and Williams, Ltd, has incorporated its own vent system into its Redpath twin-skin range of greenhouses. The system provides a number of variations and options, depending upon the requirements of individual crops. The Redpath greenhouse has a full-length “butterfly” ridge vent, which allows for an opening of 1.2 m on either side of the ridge. Roll-up side walls and a bottom-open-ing air pressure-operated vent, which allow the bottom of the inflated wall to

swing out 600 mm to 900 mm, complete the ventilation options. The ridge vents can be operated automatically or by hand. They are based on a light but strong rack-

and-pinion operating system. The steep truss design of the Redpath inflatable greenhouse is claimed by its manufacturer to reduce condensation drip.
