The Te Kiri-1 well, about 10km north of Opunake in South Taranaki, was at a depth of 1981 m by 6 a.m. yesterday, Petrocorp (Exploration), Ltd, said. Expected total depth is 4980 m. The Teriki-1 well, which is 14km to the south-east of Inglewood, was at 2657 m by 6 a.m., Petrocorp said. Target depth is 3400 m. Drilling at both wells is continuing.
