BEFORE & AFTER
The aim with naturally curly hair, advises Joro, is to even up the curl, or to use his phrase, the texture. Perming is a good solution. (This, however, usually alarms the client who says ... why would I want curls . . . I’ve got curls already).
Weave waving, where you put half the hair in perm rollers (hit one, miss one) and leave the rest is another option and, of course, layering is essential. With a combination of cutting and perming and
blow drying, Joro says he can guaranteee you a stylish and well controlled head of hair. Joro particularly recommends rotational drying to even up the curl. You will need a few hints from your hairdreser to sort this out As for styles, Joro says no one style springs to
mind, but your curly headed mop is capable of sporting far more versatile hairstyles than you thought possible ... if only you will give your hairdresser the chance to . work it out with you.
Joro has worked out two styles of his own. One is called the Freedom cut ... an easy maintenance style which can be achieved with minimal effort by the right cut and the right type of blow drying. The other is called Survival . . . and that speaks for Itself! . — Complied by Rosaleen t McCarroll ;
