Killer robots used in fight against Selleck

RUNAWAY

RCA Colombia Hoyts 89 min. M

Tom Selleck heads the cast of this movie, which also stars Cynthia Rhodes and Gene Simmons. Set in the not-too-distant future when robots are relied on to a very large degree in factories, offices and homes, Selleck plays Jack Ramsey, a sergeant in the runaway squad, part of the police department set up to deal with runaway or out-of-control robots. Cynthia Rhodes plays his beautiful, over-eager partner. An evil criminal pits his wits against the squad, and Sergeant Ramsey in particular, by reprogramming innocent robots into assassins.

Ramsey is kept busy fighting the robots and

destroying them as the criminal gets more and more daring. He eventually kidnaps Ramsey’s son and has Ramsey meet him for the final duel. This is an excellent action movie which keeps the viewer’s attention from start to finish. The picture and audio quality are excellent.

THE RED LIGHT STING CIC Taft Video 92min. PG

The justice department has joined the ranks of the mobs. In a final attempt to convict the under-world racketeer Oliver Sully (Harold Gould) the justice department buys the brothel that Oliver and his cronies are known to frequent.

Beau Bridges plays the agent given the task of

running the high class call-girl operation, and Farrah Fawcet plays the professional hooker retained to act as “hostess.”

Together they have the task of getting the information the justice department wants, and the task of keeping the justice department’s involvement a top secret. All goes well until an ambitious congressman uncovers the purchase of the brothel and threatens to make public this misuse of public funds.

There are plenty of fun and games in this one. The picture and audio quality are very good. DONALD DUCK’S FIFTY CRAZY YEARS Walt Disney Home Video 94min. G Donald Duck is 50 and

“Contrary Condor,” “Old Sequoia,” and “Donald’s Dream Voice.”

These cartoons are all well-known and very popular. What better way to celebrate Donald’s birthday than with this cartoon classic. The picture and audio quality are excellent.
