Chip defended
The humble potato chip, often written off as junk food, contains more fibre than wholemeal bread and six times as much vitamin C as an apple, according to latest research. The “Sunday Time” newspaper said potato crisps were about to be pronounced as a positively wholesome source of nutrients and energy after a new study by scientists at Kings College, London. Professor Don Naismith, who led the research, said the crisp had been wrongly attacked in the past. — London.
