Obituary Mr H. A. Heron
PA Wellington A former headmaster of Rongotai College and of Wellington College, Mr Harold Alexander Heron, has died in Wellington. He was 84. Mr Heron was a pupil at Wellington College from 1915 to 1918, then returned as a teacher from 1923 to 1939.
In 1939, he was appointed first assistant at Horowhenua College before becoming principal of Rongotai College from 1945 to 1951. Mr Heron returned to his old school in 1951 as principal and remained until his retirement in 1962, ending a 32-year association with the school.
