PA Wellington A bare second separated the first two crews home in the opening race of the national Flying Fifteen yachting championships sailed off Evans Bay, Wellington, yesterday. The eventual winner was John Leydon, of Wellington, and his crew of Rob Mcllroy. Chasing the local sailors

home were the Otago pair of Leatham and Anne Edmond, who in turn had Alan Banintine and Rodger Davies, of Auckland, 26s behind them.
