Sealord upgrades factory
PA Wellington Sealord Products, Ltd, will spend S2M upgrading its Nelson fish factory to lift the competitiveness of its orange roughy and hoki on the United States market. The work will add a new processing line, refrigeration and energysaving equipment as well as upgrade existing plant, the general manager, Dr Brian Rhoades, said. The Nelson plant employs a staff of 90. About a third of the upgrading cost will be spent locally.
Sealord aims to establish hoki as a preferred species in the United States, Dr Rhoades said.
