Six Tuhonohono Govt grants
PA Wellington The Government has given six grants totalling more than $60,000 to six groups under the Tuhonohono or Neighbourhood Family Support Services Programme, said the Minister of Social Welfare, Mrs Hercus, on Monday. The programme was designed to financially support community organisations offering assistance to families, she said.
The Mangere Kokiri Management Committee has received the largest grant of $24,840 to allow it to employ two workers who will monitor, counsel, advise and support whanau part-time. It will also cover volunteer expenses and help establish a series of hul and seminars for parents and children. New Mothers Support Groups (Inc.) in Wellington will receive a $20,000 grant for a full-time field
