Card Creek ‘dry’

PA Wellington The Card Creek-1 well near Greymouth has not proved to be commercial. Petrocorp said that, following evaluation of the log tests done on the well, it has been plugged and abandoned.

It added that the Rock Drill 20 rig was released at 4 p.m. on Sunday. The well is about 12 km south-east of Greymouth and is the latest of a series being drilled in the district. Hopes were held for the well following Petrocorp reports of hydrocarbon finds, but the logs appear to have indicated no commercial finds.
