Bid for Carter
PA Wellington A partial bid was made yesterday for Carter Holt Harvey. An unidentified party is making a second bid to buy 5M shares in Carter, through Morrow and Benjamin. The Auckland sharebrokers reported that they had bought 255,442 ordinary shares at
320 c, 264,093 contributing shares with options at 273 c, and 93,750 contributing shares without options at 222 c.
Morrow and Benjamin were largely responsible for the high turnover in Carter shares yesterday, taking the stock up 15c to close at the offer price.
