Ferry on islands run

PA Invercargill The former Stewart Island ferry Wairua is serving New Zealand again. The Foveaux Strait ferry was bought by the Fijian Interports Shipping Corporation in October to service the island of Rotuma. Since then the company has won a contract from the New Zealand Foreign Affairs Depart-

ment to service the Tokelau islands. Since leaving Bluff on October 11 the vessel has been converted to carry 200 passengers and air conditioning has been installed to cope with tropical heat. The Wairua is providing a monthly link between Apia, Western Samoa, and the Tokelaus, and also continues to service Rotuma.
