Executive of party ‘should go’
The Sunday’s Club’s chairman, Mr Bert Walker, has joined the censured former Cabinet Minister, Dr lan Shearer, in his call for the National Party’s executive to resign. Mr Walker said the party’s president, Mrs Sue Wood, and its general director, Mr Barry Leay, should resign for failing to provide vigorous leadership and party unity. The National Party needed to have its confidence restored and the executive was failing to do this, said Mr Walker.
