Colt may be in S.I. sale

Special correspondent Invercargill

The Twinkle’s yearling colt by Noble Bijou was withdrawn from the offering at the recent National Sales at Trentham.

The colt got down in his box at White Robe Lodge Stud, North Taieri, where he was being topped off before the sales. The mishap happened about 10 days before the sales.

Brian Anderton was not entirely happy with the colt on the eve of his scheduled departure for Wellington and advised that he be withdrawn.

“We have various options open to us with the colt,” one of his partowners, Mr Joe Dennis, said yesterday. “We could still sell him, we could retain him for racing and we might even sell him in the two-year-old section at the South Island sale in August.”

The colt’s setback was only a minor one and he has now thrown off any ill effects.
