Triathlon changes
Significant changes have been made to the course for the JazzerciseTri Sports triathlon in Christchurch on February 8.
The changes have been forced on the organisers by the Ministry of Transport which did not have sufficient people to man a large number of traffic lights which the course would have passed on the original route.
It was intended to end the cycle leg at Hagley Park, but to ensure maxi-
mum safety for the competitors the cycle leg will now be out of the main city area.
The race starts with a I.skm swim in Corsair Bay. It will be followed by a 40km cycle over Evans Pass to Sumner. From there the cycle leg will move out through Ferrymead and Woolston and back to Sumner. The 10km running section will take competitors twice around a course in Sumner.
