Police ? warn home gardeners
The police yesterday warned people to keep their houses secure while gardening. A police spokesman said several homes in St Albans and Bishopdale had recently been burgled while the occupants were gardening or at the rear of their properties. Cash, watches and other valuables had been snatched. A front door or window had been left open in each instance, the spokesman said. A male Maori is known to be responsible for some of the burglaries, said the spokesman. He was described as being of slim build, about 175 cm tall and aged in his early 20s.
