City Treasurer Nelson City Council We are seeking a replacement City Treasurer to head a Treasury Division which is already well set up in terms of staffing, operating procedures and systems. The person appointed will have scope for pursuing an innovative approach to the responsibilities which include forward financial planning, providing financial advice to the Council and its officers and maintaining financial control over the Council’s operations. The City Treasurer reports to the City Manager and is a key member of the corporate management team. Nelson City has a population in excess of 33,000 and the Council has an annual revenue of about $l9 million, with a total staff of 320. Treasury Division staff number 31.
