Checking for sound
The sound system for an international convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses is checked by Mr George Brown, left, the sound manager, and Mr Leon Hall, an assistant, at Pioneer Stadium yesterday. Up to 3500 people are expected to attend the fourday “Integrity Keepers” convention, which begins at the stadium today. About 500 delegates from the United States and Australia will also attend. Two speakers from the governing body of Jehovah’s Witnesses, which has its headquarters in New York, Mr Milton Henschel and Mr
Karl Klein, will address the convention. Tomorrow afternoon about 3000 delegates will knock on Christchurch doors to extend an invitation to the public talk on Sunday. Similar “Integrity Keepers” conventions will also be held over the same period in Wellington and Auckland. Similar conventions were held throughout the world last year.
