Adaptable tripod system

A tripod system providing for various types of ancillary equipment and adaptable for all camera types, including cine and video, has been developed by the Dieter Groschupp Company of West Germany. The Apex construct system, as the manufacturer terms it, includes a tripod

with twin-tube legs, which make for greater stability than single tubes. There are two models: threefold extension (model GCS 1400) and fourfold (GCS 1410). The detachable panhead has a grease-lubricated double-cone bearing and a quick-release shoe. It is usable with other tripods.

Ancillary equipment includes camera-brackets, ball-heads and a quick-re-lease angle bracket The camera brackets provide for flash lights, microphones and other equipment. The GCS 1400 complete with panhead sells for up to $3OO, the GCS 1410 up to $360. The distributor is lan R. Little, Ltd.
