Shot woman dies
A young woman who was shot in the head on Christmas Eve died last evening in Christchurch Hospital.
Her name was not available, as the police were having difficulty tracing her family. She was shot at a Belfast home at 10.45 p.m. The police were called soon after. The woman, aged 19, was taken to the hospital’s intensive-care unit.
Detectives have spoken to the person who fired the shot, but no arrest had been made by late last evening. A decision on what charge will be laid, if any, is expected to be made today.
