Fast begins One of Ireland’s bestknown jailed terrorists, Eddie Gallagher, has begun a hunger strike. Gallagher, aged 42, has started a protest fast in ; Dublin’s Mouhtjoy Jail because he says he should be released •after serving half of a 20year sentence for the abduction in 1975 of a Dutch industrialist, Dr Tiede Herrema. Dr Herrema, the head of a multi-national firm in Limerick, was kidnapped in a vain bid to secure the release from prison of three I.R.A. figures. Gallagher’s chief co-accused in their trial,-'
