Search for man after murder

NZPA-AAP Melbourne The police are searching for a man seen drinking with a New Zealand teenager shortly before he was brutally knifed to death. Travis Murney, aged 19, was stabbed about 100 times on Friday night on a track along Edgar’s Creek in suburban Thomastown, Melbourne, as he walked from the Excelsior Hotel to his home 2km away. The police yesterday said they were looking for a man who had been drinking with Murney and had left the hotel with him. It was believed the man later caught a taxi to travel a few kilometres to somewhere in Thomastown, they said. Further report, page 3.
