Master Mood, so impressive when he-won at Rangiora on Saturday, will have the Wellington Cup on January 15 asliis main mission in the next few weeks. Originally it was intended that he contest the Asbburton Cup on Thursday, but on Sunday his part-owner and trainer, Kevin Williams, -reassessed the racing opportunities available tohim.
“We felt that he could have an extremely hqrd race in the Ashburton Cup, especially as he can be a bit awkward from a standing start,” said Mrs Bonnie Williams, another partowner of the talented four-year-old. “There are a couple of good mobile-start races at the- Canterbury Park meeting and they should suit him admirably. Then he can go on to the Wellington meeting,” she said.
