Supporters’ reward

Christchurch Symphony Orchestra supporters are now getting more for their 510 subscription. For slo‘they receive a supporter’s card which entitles them. to 10 per cent discount at a growing list of shops. Items include caneware, food, haircare, motor parts, and other everyday products. The orchestra’s promotion manager, Mark Skelding,

said the card scheme was organised to give people something back for their money. The list of companies — now 21 — was being increased all the time, he said. “The idea of making the card apply to ordinary products was that someone could find it useful even if they did not go to the orchestra’s concerts.” - While the card at present

does not carry discount on concert tickets, it may in the future. Mr Skelding said other regional orchestras in the country were interested in the scheme, the only one of its kind. He hoped that eventually a network of cards would be set up so that people could use their C.S.O. or Wellington Regional Orchestra card at any of the discounts centres in each town.
