Pm not one to gossip, but I had lunch the other day with Linda Evans’ hairdresser, who told me that Linda has worn so many wigs over the past years on “Dynasty” that now her real hair has become very thin and lank. She never goes out in public without either a hat or a wig and is looking forward to when this series finishes so she can get her hair into some kind of order before the next 26-week series starts.

... Robert Redford has just turned down a staggering |2 million offer to make one television commercial for Polaroid. Mind you, this is double the offer which the same company offered Sir Laurence Olivier a few years ago, but Redford has a long-standing policy against doing television commercials of any kind. Christopher Atkins and, his . Australian wife, Lynne, have been looking forward to the birth of their first child this month. Funny, it doesn’t seem that long, since they .j got married...! know nothing! The latest star to join * “Falcon Crest” is Apollania and she is really bringing romance and a touch of high class sex into the soapie. On United States TV now she is having a hot and steamy romance with Lance, played by Lorenzo Lamas. But now

the producers have introduced a new handsome man into the show. He is Greg Webb who will play Walker McDowell, a former lover who lies and cheats to woo Apollonia away from Lance.

Sorry, but this will not happen in New Zealand until the next series. Michael Landon has had a bird costume made for an upcoming episode of “Highway to Heaven” at the cost of 35000. The show dramatises the plight of birds dying in a polluted river alongside a factory that is dumping toxic wastes. Phyllis Diller recently bought another Rolls to go with her collection. At the last count she had three; one silver, one blue, one black, and the latest one is mauve, but I guess when you get that many who’s counting. I am living right here in Beverly Hills (where else) and at the supermarket recently I was in line with Andy Williams whose account came to $l2OO and his shopping cart wasn’t even fu11... but my lips are sealed!
