P Class to Howell
Mark Howell, the Canterbury Tanner Cup representative, won the Epiglass South Island P Class yachting championships held at Nelson last week-end. Howell proved consistent throughout in heading the 33strong fleet which drew yachtsmen from as far away as Queenstown. * The first race of the series went to local yachtsmen who handled the eight to 15-knot conditions at Tahunanui Beach better than the rest of the fleet but from then oh Howell took control. He won the next three races for a convincing win, a
restarted last race giving him three wins out of four starts.
