Tourist in intensive care unit
A Canadian woman injured in a road accident near Kirwee last Friday remains in the intensivecare unit at Christchurch Hospital. Mrs Euphenia Beveridge, aged 81, of British Columbia, suffered multiple injuries in a head-on collision between two cars. She was holidaying with relatives in New Zealand. Her brother, Mr Robert Sanders, aged 84, of Linwood, was also injured. He was in a comfortable condition, said hospital staff. A young Christchurch man, Brent Gemmell, aged 20, who was -injured in a road accident on the Tunnel Road on Monday, had been taken off the seriously ill list, said hospital staff. Mr Gemmell was serf-' ously injured when the car in which he was a passenger was in a head-on collision with a truck.
