Warm welcome

“On behalf of the New Zealand Bowling Association, I extend a warm welcome to all players and visitors to the 1985-86 Rothmans national bowls tournament. “I believe the tournament epitomises what our ancient game represents, fellowship and friendly rivalry, and accordingly the Canterbury centre and its clubs are proud to host this year’s championships. “I am most appreciative of all the support given by the centre, and also that from clubs, umpires, the turf culture association, greenkeepers and markers and, above all, the women members of clubs who attend to the catering arrangements. My sincere thanks to all. “A special thanks, too, to the Woolston W.M.C. bowls section, and the main club for once again making its excellent facilities available. ' ' “To all competitors may your stay with us be a most happy and enjoyable one.” Bill Cole President New Zealand Bowling Association
