REPETITION EXERCISES There is, on a certain Canterbury farm, a golden spaniel who loves her master and mistress dearly;' her great delight being to proceed with them daily in the farm truck. Their antics do puzzle her at tunes, but she is happy beyond barks to just go wherever they go, do whatever they do, be wherever they are.
So one morning, the three or them proceeded down the farm in their vehicle. Upon the truck-deck sat a contented very woolly sheep, tied feet beneath stopping any thoughts of escape. Surrounding her was various paraphernalia necessary for the intended work that day. An excited farm dog pranced round in any available foot-room left
The terra firma surface beneath was definitely not firma, a thawed frost producing a condition giving some of the truck’s movements a grace familar tc Torvill and Dean.
The spaniel was amazed when suddenly the truck, coming over a rise, spun
in a circle, becoming stationary at last facing their previous muddy tracks. Her master and mistress leapt from their seats on either side of her and began rushing hither and yon, gathering farflung articles, and retrieving a disgruntled helpless sheep from her face down muddy position. Laughter and huffing and puffing accompanied their return to the vehicle. A gleam then appeared in her master’s eye, he muttered f *Wonder if that same exact thing would happen another time?” meant nothing to a doggy mind. Spaniel thoughts and a spaniel sigh were unnoticed as with a chuckle from one human and a resigned sigh from the other, the performance was exactly repeated. She just sat there contently again at their exit. Laughter and chatter, huffing and puffing proceeding as before. She is just content to be wherever they are, do whatever they do, go wherever they go ...
