PA Wellington The managing director of 1.8. M. N.Z. Ltd, Mr Basil Logan, has been elected chairman of the Employment Action Business Alliance, the Employers Federation said. - He succeeds the immediate past president of the Manufacturers Federation, Mr Earl Richardson. The alliance was formed at the economic summit last year to build a partnership between business Headers

and the Government to tackle unemployment problems. Mr Brian Lee, of Christchurch, has been appointed director of the alliance. Mr Lee’s first task will be to develop and launch a pilot programme of business assistance to job seekers in Christchurch. The deputy executive director of the Employers Federation, Mr Ray Taylor, continues as secretary of the alliance.
