Flipperty Gibert well placed in QEII Park feature
By
STEVE WILSON
The Timaru-trained Flipperty Gibert, appears well placed to make a bold showing in the Bower Egg Farm Stakes, feature event at the Christchurch Greyhound Racing Club’s meeting at Queen Elizabeth II Park this evening. The Silent Wonder—Lady Wadderin brindle bitch is one of the few runners in the field that has been tried over the extreme distance of 805 m. She has performed with distinction against some of the best stayers in the country, and this should be her best chance to date of winning a major stakes race.
Most opposition is likely to come from the wellperformed Invercargilltrained bitch, Wee Donna Dandy, even though she must be nearing the end of her outstanding career. Her recent efforts against stronger opposition have been good, and she will appreciate the drop in class. Three qualifying heats will be contested to select a field for the $750 Harding Cup on December 27 at Queen Elizabeth II Park. Race 1 7.0 A.W.A.
