Authenticity in design of inn

The designer and builder of the Cotswold Inn, Mr Tom Sharpies, did a great deal of research on the Tudor era, before he started on the project. The authenticity and detail in design created a lot of interest in the inn, he said. Mr Sharpies, who was

born in England, has dreamt of building something like the Cotswold Inn for the past 25 years. Because the inn was “something quite different,” the project fired the enthusiasm of those involved. “I had tremendous support from my partners and

loyalty and enthusiasm from the tradesmen that have worked on the project,” said Mr Sharpies. Most of the materials

used in construction have been bought locally. The schist stone was brought from Alexandra, for example.
