Morale ‘high’ in N.Z. Party

PA Auckland Auckland officials of the New Zealand Party want to keep the party afloat, in spite of the lack of support reflected in public opinion polls. The party’s leader, Mr John. Galvin, left a monthly meeting of the division in Auckland last evening, pleasantly surprised at the high morale. “They made it clear that, while they are concerned about the polls, they are not bothered by it, and are

going to hang on in there.”

He believed that if an election were held today there would be 8 to 10 per cent support for the New Zealand Party. Its members, he said, were not pessimistic. “They are determined to keep the party ticking over, then at the next election wave the flag. The people will come cut again. “They are determined to continue. The pendulum has swung away, but it will come back.”
