Reporter killed

A South African journalist with close ties with the African National Congress guerrilla group, David Rabkin, has died in a car crash in Mozambique’s capital, Maputo. Rabkin, aged 37, who once worked for the “Cape Argus” newspaper, was detained for 10 years in 1974 for aiding the A.N.C. On his release early last year he moved to Maputo, where he freelanced for the London-based “Guardian” newspaper and the 8.8. C. — Maputo.
