Branz Computing System consists mainly of digital VAX 11/750 and PDP 11/24 running VMS and RSXIIMPIUS respectively. The language supported are BASIC, Fortran and Prolog..Fortran is the principal language used for application software. Specific duties would be systems development, managing computer peripherals, developing and maintaining application software and providing support to the Branz systems manager. The successful applicant msut have good written and oral communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Experience on DEC systems would be an advantage, however applicants with appropriate skills will be considered. NOXIOUS PLANTS OFFICER The Clutha District Noxious Plants Authority would prefer that any applicant be a fully qualified Noxious Plants Officer, although applications from persons with suitable experience and who were prepared to receive training to obtain the necessary qualifications, may be considered. CLERK AMALGAMATED BATTERIES, LTD, is a member of the Cable Price Downer Group. Head Office and battery manufacturing plant are situated in Woolston. Currently we are undergoing major redevelopment both with buildings and plant and seek an additional Clerk. This person will be directly responsible to the Manufacturing Manager for all general clerical duties associated with the factory. The person we seek should be in the 17 to 20 age group. Be of clean and tidy appearance, possess a current Driver’s Lienee for a motor car, and above all be able to communicate and get on well with people. Some interest in engineering and a possible knowledge of basic computer skills would be an advantage but are definitely not a prerequisite as adequate training in all aspects of the position will be provided.
