“Something About Amelia,” the Sunday Movie on October 27 which dealt with the subject of incest, polled fourth placing in the Broadcasting Corporation’s ratings for the week October 26 to November 1. It had an average audience of 931,080. A number of “special” programmes featured. “The First Annual Stuntman Awards,” which screened on the Saturday evening was rated fifth; the World Cup qualifying game between New Zealand and Israel’s soccer teams was eighteenth; and the first rugby test between New Zealand
and Argentina was nineteenth equal. An interview with the Prince and Princess of Wales, which screened on the Sunday evening, was forty-ninth equal with 548,000 viewers. The top 10 programmes for the week were: © The Cosby Show © McPhail and Gadsby ,® Ready to Roll © Something About Amelia ® First Annual Stuntman Awards © News (Thursday) ® News (Saturday) © Magnum P.I. ® Scarecrow and Mrs King ® Riptide.
