Satellite TV Britain’s commercial television companies, Independent Television, have announced agreement in principle to set up a European television satellite service from next year. The service would compete with Sky Channel, the European entertainment channel owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News International. In addition to drawing on I.T.V. for programming, the new channel would include programmes from the public-funded British Broadcasting Corporation. — London.
