Paul Stanley (Wellington), the • defending champion, has only two wins after the first two days of the President’s Trophy croquet competition in Rotorua.
John Prince (Hawke’s Bay) has five wins and leads the competition, and the two Christchurch players, Roger Murfitt and Graeme Beale, with three wins each, are within striking distance of the leader. Results of matches played by Murfitt and Beale on the first two days are: Beale: beat Skinley 26-25; lost to R. Jackson, 13-26; lost to Prince, 0-26; lost to G. Roberts, 17-26; beat T. Stephens, 26-2; beat V. Bartholomeus, 26-0.
